LAUTER’S “OUT-DELIVERS” NORTH CAROLINA
Like I told the sales person, I had purchased some furniture from one of the North Carolina “discount” places about a year ago. The prices seemed good even with the “nominal” shipping fee of almost $400. To my surprise, the truck driver’s instructions were for “curbside delivery.” Because of liability, he said he could not set foot in my home. They didn’t tell us this when we bought the furniture… My husband and I had to call on some neighbors to help us lug these huge boxes into our house. The worst part is that two of the four pieces were slightly damaged and had to be sent back. Upon the re-delivery, again one of the pieces was damaged. At one point, I had three damaged pieces of furniture in my garage waiting for pick-up.
I guess you can say we learned our lesson. I had to write to tell you what a great pleasure it was dealing with Lauter’s Furniture when we purchased new bedroom furniture for our daughter. Your showroom has a very “homey” quality and the sales people were great and not pushy at all. Best of all, your delivery guys showed up at my house when promised, brought the furniture into the house, and set it up exactly where I wanted it. They even answered a couple of questions that I had on the spot! Also, the furniture looks great. Melissa loves it! Thank you Lauter’s!
LAUTER’S WON’T LET OUR CUSTOMERS MAKE A MISTAKE
Dear Lauter’s Staff,
For years I have been dreaming of the perfect dining room for my home. I knew going in that the furniture would be an investment, so I wanted to make sure I did not make a mistake. I went to one of the chain stores and the salesman didn’t really seem to care about my feelings, it seemed like he just wanted to get the sale. I guess that’s business.
Thankfully, a friend told me about Lauter’s. Your sales staff was courteous and I did not feel at all forced into making a decision. I explained my situation and my fear that I was going to make a very expensive mistake if I didn’t make the right furniture choice. The comfort level that I felt with Melanie as a sales consultant was a thousand times better than dealing with sales people at the big furniture stores. She took a lot of time and really listened to me and made sure I was making the right decision.
All I can say is, “Thank You!” The furniture arrived yesterday and the delivery men set it up. The room looks amazing and I cannot wait to entertain in my new dining room!

My wife and I are probably like most of the people that come into your store. What I mean is that we did a great deal of research into the furniture that we wanted to buy before coming to you. We got all kinds of details and competitive prices on the Internet, shopped some of the chain stores, and even talked to a few manufacturers. I thought that we knew it all. Let me just say that I was proven wrong! Your sales staff took the time with us to explain the difference between a $1,000 dining room suit and a $10,000 dining room suit, plus everything in between. We learned more about wood and fabrics in one hour at your store than in literally hours of research on the Internet.
To tell you the truth, we were considering picking your brain, then buying online. But after talking to you staff we realized that would not be in our best interest. We ended up purchasing a better dining room suit from Lauter’s and feel comfortable in knowing that you can service us. I’m glad we took the time to stop at your store and experience the RIGHT way to buy furniture.
